Dr. Ziyad Makoshi is currently a second year neurosurgery resident at the Ottawa Hospital. He received his medical training (MBBS) in Saudi Arabia, King Saud University in 2012, after which he obtained his¬†Master’s degree in Clinical Neuroscience (MSc) at University College London (UCL), in the United Kingdom in 2013, before beginning his neurosurgery training at the University of Ottawa.

He has a strong interest in research and is involved in several research projects at the university including post operative cranial wound infections and CNS tumour registry. He is interested in pursuing a fellowship in Pediatric Neurosurgery.

Ziyad was once a professional gymnast for the Saudi National Gymnastics team for over a decade and currently pursues sports in his spare time.
